The afternoon the portal changed
On 8 October 2026, Habib sat across from an Italian visa officer for about seven to ten minutes. It was his first embassy interview. He had never filed a visa application before either. A year earlier, he had been a student waiting for his HSC results.
By that afternoon, his visa portal showed a new status: issued. An email confirmation followed. The next day, he collected his passport from VFS Chattogram, stamped for Italy.
Most students wait weeks for that moment. Habib waited hours. But the speed of that final day hides almost a year of careful work, and three problems that could each have ended his plan.
Where did Habib's Italy plan begin?
Habib's plan began the moment he finished HSC in 2025. He already knew what he wanted: a bachelor's degree in a well-developed country. He researched online for weeks, and every search pointed him back to Italy, with its strong public universities, low tuition and real scholarship routes for Bangladeshi students.
He also knew where his research ran out.
“To fulfill this dream, I definitely needed a helping hand.”
Why did Habib choose Sunrise Study Abroad?
Habib chose Sunrise Study Abroad after comparing several consultancies, both online and in person. He also spoke with students who had received Italy visas through Sunrise in earlier years. They told him the team was student-friendly and prepared every document authentically, which he saw as essential for a visa.
At the end of December 2025, he opened his file at the Sunrise Study Abroad office in Banani with counsellor Mousumi Mou.
Why did he choose the University of Eastern Piedmont?
Habib chose the University of Eastern Piedmont because its programme matched both his profile and his interests. Together with Sunrise Study Abroad, he shortlisted a few Italian public universities and applied in early 2026.
His final choice was the Bachelor's in Management for Sustainability. The University of Eastern Piedmont describes this degree as a programme that pairs core management skills with the tools to build sustainability into how organisations make decisions. Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles such as junior ESG analyst, sustainability reporting assistant and junior ESG consultant.
The university is in the Piedmont region of northern Italy, between Turin and Milan, which made Habib eligible to apply for the region's EDISU Piemonte scholarship. See the University of Eastern Piedmont's fees and requirements.
